About Course

This course covers the weather effects and aviation hazards associated with thunderstorms and microbursts. The course starts with a detailed explanation of types of thunderstorms, thunderstorm formation and microbursts. The second part of the course focuses on related hazards and techniques (including use of airborne weather radar) for thunderstorm avoidance. The final part of the course is a review of an aircraft accident which occurred in Toronto Canada in 2005 resulting from flight into a thunderstorm.
